GB News finds supporters thirsting for Trump

The right wing channel went vox popping for Trump fans but at least one refreshed cheerleader had to be cut off in his pomp

GB News’s breathless coverage of Donald Trump’s inauguration got no better than raving – sorry, roving – reporter Steven Edginton’s vox pop from the streets of Washington DC.

As host Tom Harwood used his investigative reporting skills to inform viewers that Donald Trump was wearing a coat, Edgington told them: “It is freezing, it does feel pretty cold here today and it’s certainly not warm.”

He then introduced a Trump supporter from Long Island who, despite the early hour, appeared to be slurring his words. “I’m looking forward to mighty Musk and mighty Don saving this country,” he said. “The Democrats just throw things away, look what they did in California, they destroyed it with fires. We’re going to buy Canada and Mexico. It’s going to be the Republic of Cum.”

Alas the refreshed Trumpite could not explain that this stands for Canada, United States and Mexico because Edginton opted to end the interview shortly afterwards.

The right are fuming that Keir Starmer won’t be in Washington for the president’s swearing-in. But no prime minister ever has
