Tony Blackburn has never made any bones about the fact he’s a Tory voter. He had an idyllic childhood in Poole in Dorset, quickly found a job and a fortune as a radio disc-jockey, and cheerfully conceded: “I never wanted to rebel because I had nothing to rebel against.”
It should alarm the Tories that, at 79, Blackburn has finally turned. “I, for one, cannot forgive parties at No 10,” he says. “My sister passed away when these parties were going on and I was not able to be with her. Sorry, I can’t forgive these politicians for not following their own rules.”
